Frequently Asked Questions

What does the term "unlocked" mean?
A: When a phone is unlocked it means that it can be used with any GSM carrier such as Cingular Wireless, Rogers, Fido, etc.

What does GSM mean?

A: GSM stands for Global System for Mobile communications. In other words, GSM phones are the ones that use sim cards.

Is there any contract to sign?
A: No. There is not any contract of any sort to sign. You simply take out the sim card from your current phone and place it into your new phone.

Will your phones work with Bell or Telus?
A: In short, yes. Telus and Bell have released their network that will allow GSM phones to operate. For a phone to be Bell and Telus compatible it must have HSPA 850/1900 MHz specified on the product specifications. If the phone does not have these HSPA bands then it is not compatible with Bell or Telus.

Are your phones brand new?
A: Yes. Modern Mobile sells only brand new cellular phones.

Are your phones authentic?

A: Yes. We only deal with authentic goods.

If I received a phone that was Dead On Arrival (DOA) can i have an exchange or refund?
A: The chances of receiving a DOA is slim to none but if there is such an occurence we will glady exchange the phone or offer you a refund once you ship the phone back to Modern Mobile (shipping costs for returns are on us).

What payment methods do you accept?

A: Currently we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AMEX. We also accept bank wire transfers,  certified checks, and INTERAC online.

Do you ship worldwide?
A: Yes! We ship worldwide with the exception of a few countries. Please contact us to find out the exceptions.

What is your return policy?
A: There is a 10 day return policy on all of our products. The 10 day (10 calendar days from receipt) return policy will only be honoured if your phone has been used for no more than 30 minutes. All phones must be in brand new condition and include original box and all manuals. A 10% restocking fee will apply on all returns.

Do your phones come with warranty?
A: Yes. All phones come with a manufacturer's warranty.

How much is shipping?
A: Shipping is FREE for orders over $39 in US and Canada. Worldwide shipping is $49.95 CAD.

How long will shipping take?
A: Total time from placing your order to receiving your order at your door will take 2-3 business days. Worldwide orders will take 3-4 business days.

Are there any delivery fees?
A: FedEx may charge a small fee of approx. $10. This fee may come in the form of an invoice by FedEx and may be sent a couple weeks after you receive your phone.

Can I ship to an address different than the billing address?
A: No. We can only process orders where the shipping address matches the billing address you have on file with your credit card.

What about taxes?
A: 5% GST applies to customers in Canada only.
